The Dash Group-owned skateboard business, Mello Skateboards, has been selected to be a part of this year’s McDonald’s Monopoly campaign.

If you’re not a fan of fast food, the words ‘McDonald’s Monopoly’ won’t mean anything to you. But to everyone else, each spring those words trigger excitement at the possibility of winning a seriously cool prize, a heap of cash or just some free food.

The McDonald’s Campaign

This year, for the first time in the history of the long-running annual campaign, a Cornish brand is involved. Mello Skateboards, based in Redruth, is providing 1500 of their Build-Your-Own LED cruiser skateboards as prizes.

The inclusion of Mello in the McDonald’s campaign, which starts on March 16th and ends April 26th, is proving to be a fantastic opportunity to put Cornwall on the cool, innovative lifestyle products map.

Yes, the Wheels Light Up!

Mello LED Skateboards are retro-style cruiser skateboards, designed primarily for cruising the streets rather than the ‘popsicle’ style boards designed for tricks and stunts.

The one one major difference to other boards already on the market is that they all have light-up-as-you-ride LED wheels. No batteries are needed as kinetic energy generated by the wheels while the board is moving is harnessed and used to light the super-bright LEDs.

But it’s not all about the looks. High specifications, attention to detail and tight quality control ensure performance has been given just as much consideration as aesthetics. Mello Skateboards are made with top quality components to ensure a particularly smooth, high performance ride. These all-rounders are ideal for cruising on the street but can also pull some moves at the skate park.
